News from the Border 16.07.08 ROCK! The band would like to
say a huge thank you to all those who turned out at Gateshead Rugby Club last Saturday for what was yet another great night as
part of the annual fun day celebrations. We had a great time and must extend a hearty thank you to Lar Doherty and Richie
Nye for their assistance with getting us the gig and lugging the gear! Same time next year chaps?! On a different note the band are now looking forward to guitarist Gav's wedding
to Lou a week on Saturday and all the usual fun and drink that goes with it! We'll be back in August once the ring is firmly ensconsed on his pinky with hopefully
a few new tunes and a hearty appetite to rock!! Until then, y'all take care and see ya soon! Cheers, Marky Borderland. 06.07.08 STOP PRESS: Dun Elm Ridge CANCELLED: Sadly due to the changeable weather todays gig has had to be cancelled. Please
accept our apologies for the short notice but both bands wanted to give the gig as much chance as possible before bailing
out. Normal service should be resumed next Saturday at Gateshead Rugby Club so hope to see you all there! Cheers! 02.07.08 STOP PRESS: Medal gig cancelled: Unfortunately due to injury the band have had to cancel Thursday 3rd July's gig at the Gold Medal in Gateshead.
Nothing too serious thankfully and all being well we'll see you all at Dun Elm Ridge on Sunday - pray for sunshine! Our apologies to the venue and all who were thinking of coming
along. Many thanks for your continued support. 04.06.08 We're back! (for a bit at least!) Hola folks
(sez he fresh back from sunnier climbs!) and here's hoping y'all are well. As the Gig Guide shows we have a fairly lean month in June with only our return to our home from home, the Star, to look forward
too playing-wise (get yourselves along - 4pm on Sunday 8th June!) before we are caught up in a world of stag do's and other
commitments before some semblance of normal service resumes in July. Before then however I must make mention of the superb efforts made by everyone
in support of the Ramshaw Animal Rescue Centre gig way back in May, and particularly Johnny Grimshaw, who ensured the day
was superbly organised, culminating in the sanctuary raising some much needed funds. A fantastic day out despite
the cold and a pleasure to be involved with it so thanks to everyone who supported the day. Until next time, be good and if you can't be good.........get yourselves
to the gig on Sunday!! 15.05.08 Ramshaw Rocks! !! Hello Compadres,
just a final throw of the dice by way of a reminder that it's the Ramshaw Rocks festival this Saturday, commencing 5pm, down
at the Ramshaw Animal Rescue Centre near West Auckland in County Durham. I can confirm Borderland will be on at 8.25pm so
please if you fancy a day out whilst contributing to a very worthy cause at the same time then please come along. Tickets
are £10 including camping if you fancy making a full night of it and ALL proceeds go to the charity (including those gathered
by, event organiser and our top mate, Johnny Grimshaw who successfully completed a parachute jump on Saturday gone
- well done dude!) . Six great acts, one top comedian and hopefully a lovely sunny day to
boot (the event is taking place in a marquee so we shall defeat the elements either way!). Hope to see you all there and/or
at Luma on Sunday night. Cheers!! 19.04.08 More Gigs, Gigs, Gigs...!! GREAT NEWS! The
band have just confirmed their annual return to the Adam & Eve in Prudhoe on New Years Eve with our brothers, the fabulous,
Diablo. Tickets will be on sale much later in the year but we're already looking forward to another stonking night. Also please see the Gig Guide for details of our recently revised schedule. Cheers!! 18.04.08 Gigs, Gigs, Gigs... How do y'all and apols
for the lengthy delay in updating the page. No doubt most of you will still have been bombarded by constant emails in the
meanwhile however for those who ain't hope you're well and thanks for looking!! Since I last wrote we've had some good, bad and ugly news, so starting
with the good, we've played some great new venues for us including Benwell Hill CC, the Star (natch!), the George
Stephenson, and the Marquis of Granby and have met some fantastic folk along the way. On the downside we've been mucked
about by a couple of venues much to our chagrin - they do not deserve to be mentioned - however all's well that ends well
and the bookings are still coming in. After tonights return at the quite splendid Adam & Eve in Prudhoe
- get yourselves along! - we have a fairly quiet period while we attack some new tunes before a full-on reprisal in and beyond
the Summer. In the meantime we look forward to seeing you all along the way. Much love Borderland. 29.02.08 Now you see 'em, now you, er.....don't!! Hello
one and all, your delectable scribe scribbling again! It's been a funny month all things considered. Some new gigs coming
through, some gigs called off, some of the new gigs that came through being called off even! We had a canny month on stage in February with good debuts at Smugglers,
and the Ryton Hotel, plus an incident packed 40th Birthday bash for our good mate Cliffy Bon Tempi at Low Fell Rugby
Club. Not even a power cut could dampen our spirits however and a good night was had by all - cheers Ange! We had our long awaited return at the Gold Medal which went swimmingly -
including our debut performance of Jane. And looking ahead to March we have our debuts at the prestigious
George Stephenson Inn, plus Benwell Hill Cricket Club and the Derwentside in Consett. Also returns to the Marquis
of Granby and the Star - our favourite! - but on a Sunday afternoon for the first time. Full details in the Gig
Guide. Thanks again to those who've supported us throughout and may we all soft
rock together again many times in the near future!! Cheers!! 27.01.08 Shooting Stars!!! Well shiver me timbers
as one lumberjack said to another, what a great night! Yes people, I'm talkin' about the bands appearance at the mighty Star
on Westgate Road last night where we were frankly blown away by the reaction! The Star has been our favourite venue since
day one, in no small part due to the staff (cheers Red!) and guvnor Steve who always make us very welcome, but last night
there were a whole load of 'new faces' - soonds like a dodgy TV talent show - as well as our usual friends and family who
are the greatest. A special mention must go to Lizzie Cowen who's wedding we're playing later in the year , her family
and her crazy friends, Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams (that is what you said you were called isn't it ladies?! - kiddin!). Also the
mighty Honeyz and the Honeyz Junior (Marie and Judith) who looked fab kitted out in Borderland tees! Things just
don't get better than this!!! Even Dave Drums 27 minute drum solo worked a treat!! Ha, ha!! Anyway, without getting too excited, we just thought it imperative we
sent a HUGE thankyou to each and every one of you who played a part in us having a top night. Even Mr Potter - a true man
of ROCK!!! - looked like he was gonna shake his booty at one point! Cheers Davy!!! Later peeps!! 06.01.08 HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Well folks the decorations
are now firmly back in the loft and we are all no doubt back at, or dreading, going to work this week after the holidays.
So a damn good job you have some mighty fine Bordrland gigs to look forward too in 2008 then eh?! Ha, ha!! We hope everyone had a good time. Certainly the band had a fantastic night
on New Years Eve in Prudhoe despite both bands (ourselves and our brothers Diablo) suffering seriously from the lurgy that's
been doing the rounds. Still we just about got through it with some hefty set changes and may even do it all again next year,
minus the lurgy we hope!! On a slight downer we've had to pull both gigs at the Black Bull in
Morpeth (see Gig Guide). The reasons for this I shall not go into other than to say the band refuse to be support over officious payment
policies which impact ourselves and our soundmen. Their loss! Anyway, all that aside we're really looking forward to 2008 and to seeing
you all somewhere along the way (hopefully!). Thanks once again for your support in 2007 and very best wishes to you in 2008. All the best from Mark, Gav, Dave, Les and Alan. 16.12.07 One to go And so it came to pass that Borderland
concluded their Christmas gigs in style with a right old knees up at Daverson Hall in Wideopen last night. The band would
like to say a huge thankyou to the 'flyer free' (Lol!!) Honeyz supreme Lynn and Janet and to the newly dubbed Honeyz Juniors
Judith and Marie who all lit up the evening with smiles and daft dancing aplenty. Thanks also to Jacqui for booking us. Indeed
we would like to thank every single one of you for your support in 2007 in what has been a very successful year for the band
despite the loss of Harv and Billy. Once again, have a tremedous Christmas and if you aren't able to make our New
Years Eve bash at the Adam & Eve in Prudhoe (limited tickets still available!) with our great buddies Diablo, have
a fantastic New Year and see you in 2008! Party on dudes and dudesses alike!!! 21.11.07 Tickets Please!!! Folks, just to let you all know
that tickets for our much anticipated New Years Eve party at the Adam & Eve are now on sale for the princely sum of £7
each. A bargain, I'm sure you'll agree for two bands (ourselves and the talented yet far uglier Diablo!) AND a buffet!! Tickets are available from the venue only so please contact Paul or Karen
pronto as they're moving like hot cakes by all accounts. Also check out our updated Meet the Band and Photo's page. God we're handsome beasts.....FNAR!!! Reet, time to go find the lads some over-sized Santa costumes to accomodate
each of their rather large 'girths'.... 06.11.07 Veals OFF! Due to the impending departure of the
management at the Golden Lion in Allendale, we've unfortunately had to cancel our gig on 15th Dec but we would like to
thank Margaret for her support and wish her and her hubby all the best in their new venture whatever it may be! Not all bad news though as we've now been booked for a do in Wideopen! Thanks
to Jacqui for that one. Time to don the hats and grow the white beards again lads!! Any chance of sorting Whams Last Christmas
for it Gav.....? Sorry, I didn't catch the word after the 'f***' bit?! 03.11.07 That's gonna hurt in the morning... Borderland
would like to send a huge get well soon message to our occassional soundman Dave Clark who is currently recuperating from
a recent health scare. Hope you're back and fighting fit on the road with us again soon mate! Also great to see Borderland members past and present at the Star last week.
Both Billy and Harv were seen drinking themselves daft as we did all the graft. Somethings never change.....! More gigs coming in all the time so pleae keep checking the Gig Guide. Later people!! 18.10.07 We're Back! Hello beautiful people!! Yep, it's
true, after a good few weeks of silence the lads are happy to be back and rocking again starting this Saturday at the Adam
& Eve in Prudhoe. A couple of new songs ready to roll to and more on the way with our new line up! Watch this space... Also gigs aplenty sneaking in now for next year (see our Gig Guide page) so we're getting ourselves slowly back on track though whther or not it lasts in light of Dave Drums new
found fame in Tuesdays Evening Chronicle and tonights Chronicle Extra we're not sure. Squeezing his ego into a Citroen Xsara
was tricky enough before the press coverage and sadly we can't afford an HGV..... Onward soft rock soldiers!! 24.09.07 Gig cancellation The band are sorry to announce
that they have had to cancel their debut Sunday slot at our favourite venue the Star Inn on 7th October. This is as a result
of unforeseen circumstances involving a football match and a guitarist working away in Sheffield for a short time. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused to all parties. We are still primed
and ready to play the same venue on Sat 27th October as planned however so hope to see you all there! 21.09.07 OAP awarded OBE!! The lads would just like to
wish drummer Dave many congratulations on reaching bus pass age 60 today. Please check out Riffs News page for our tribute
to him. Better news still, the Queen has been in touch with him and honoured him with an OBE!! Yep seriously, he's now
officially an Old Bastard of England!!! Many congratulations and Happy Birthday Peckett Senior!! Secondly, the band are also delighted to announce that they are to play a New Years Eve extraveganza with their Brothers In Rock (and Dave Drums other less attractive band!) DIABLO at one of our fave venues, the Adam & Eve in Prudhoe. It's an all-ticket affair (£6/£7 each TBC) and tickets are available from the venue only. Get in there early to avoid disappointment for what promises to be a great night of fun and entertainment. The band also wish to thank the mighty John Jobling for his sterling photography work in Ovingham. More shots will be uploaded in due course and a full biog from Nee Money Hudson is also pending. Really, we spoil you people sometimes....ha, ha, ha!! 03.09.07 Swan Dive Sadly another venue has chosen to stop live music therefore our gig at the Black Swan in Morpeth on 13th October has been pulled. The White Swan in Ovingham is still all systems go though for this Friday 7th September!! 01.09.07 Who Loves Ya Baby?! The lads would like to extend new boy Alan and his wife Heather muchos congratulations on the birth of their first child, named James Milburn (alias Nee Nappies!) who was born on Wednesday 29th August. All are doing well. Meanwhile we are scurrying away behind the scenes trying to get a set together with the new line up in time for our debut in Ovingham on Friday 7th September. Thanks to all who supported us at a rather washed out Allendale Festival on the 19th. A good time was had by all except Gav and Daves shoes..... 18.08.07 New Beginnings! Well folks after Sundays storming finale for Harvey who received a deseved tumultuous reception, the band are primed and ready to go at the Allendale Beer Festival tomorrow (Sunday 19th Aug) with new BorderLand dude Alan on board for his debut performance. The band are one of six on the bill and anticipate being on stage no later than 3pm. Tickets are £5 for adults though it's free admission for under-16's. The stage is on the Allendale showfields which isn't too far from the main square in the town. Hope to see you all there for a music and real ale extraveganza! 09.08.07 Rocking before the watershed! Just to confirm that with Sunday 12th's gig at the Bridle Path, Whickham being Harv's grand finale, the band intend to make the most of the occasion and play from the earlier time of approx. 8.30pm instead of the usual 9pm. This will ensure we maximise the soft rock potential in time for the usual 10.30pm venue closing time. Cheers!! 08.08.07 Well, it's a one for the (Nee) Money! Ladies and gentlemen after a superb day playing in the sun at Dunelm Ridge on Sunday along with our fellow musketeers Diablo and with our sporadic special guest Billy Bradshaw (there be some fine acoustic noodling on display old bean!), the band are now gearing up for their final gig with Harvey this coming Sunday 12th August at the Bridle Path in Whickham. The band are hoping for a packed house to see off ole 'sausage & chips' himself so please get yourself along for a night of soft rock and a plethora of pints!! Nee tears though cos that's just soft without the rock! On a positive note the band are delighted to welcome aboard our new fifth member who will, primarily, be taking over bass duties whilst Les moves onto keyboards. Yes, folks our 'new secret weapon' is none other than Big Alan Hudson (alias 'Nee Money') who some of you may know as one of Gav's best mates and accomplice in White Lies. The lads are delighted to have him aboard and we are all currently beavering away learning and relearning the set. We are adamant no gigs shall be shelved during this timely process however, and whilst we realise it may take a good few months to regain full momentum, we are determined to keep filling you wonderful folk full of soft rock, be it as a 4/5 piece in the interim as necessary. Al's first appearance with us will be the Allendale Beer Festival on August 19th (just a small warm up then, gulp....) so please give him a warm and rapturous welcome. Just divvn't ask him to buy you a drink cos, you guessed it, he's got 'Nee Money'!! Get them t-shirts ready Honeyz!!! 15.07.07 'Hats' the Way (Ah-ha, Ah-ha) I Llike It! Hi folks, your resident website gimp here as the band find themselves two-thirds of the way through a plentiful weekend, with 'hat's, rather bizarrely, being the order of the day. Yep, it all started last weekend at the fantastic Star Inn in Newcastle with Les attempting to become Benshams answer to Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee ('croc' being the operative word!) by sporting plainly ludicrous headwear! This was followed by a fantastic wedding celebration night in Durham Castle on, I kid you not, Friday 13th!! The band would like to say hearty congratulations to Billy and Clare and wish them the very best for the future. A smashing couple with a fine taste in music and, you guessed it, more hats!! And finally yesterday at Low Fell Rugby Club where, after overcoming the car parking saga, we were greeted by part-time BorderLand blokey Billy Bradshaw in what can only be described as a 'Chav Mr Whippy' cap!! That's three Mivvy's and a Mini Milk please!! But before you can holler 'Mind That Child' we have tonights debut in Luma, Sunderland where hopefully we can 'bowl' over a few more folk in what has been a fantastic couple of weekends for the band. Hope to see you there!!! 30.06.07 Goodbye Westgate Road, hello Spaghetti Junction?! BorderLand is sad to announce the forthcoming departure of founder member and 'pre-gig sausage connoisseur' Harvey Smith from the band. Yes, our proverbial tax inspector has gone and landed himself a 'too good to refuse' new job with a rather huge accountancy firm, the only catch being him having to relocate to Birmingham to take the job......(cue dodgy Jasper Carrot/Barry from Auf Wiedersehn Pet impressions). Obviously the lads are gutted to see him go, and not just from a band perspective as Harv has been one of the gang for years. Hell, Marky Vocals has known him since school and, as you all know, Les is his brother (poor sod!) so he'll be a huge miss to us all. He has however promised (and chippies all over the North East can breathe a sigh of relief) that his ugly boat race will be reappearing back in the Toon at very regular intervals and the great news, from a band perspective, is that Harv has pledged to play all forthcoming gigs upto and including our Bridle Path in Whickham return on Sunday 12th August, for which we are very grateful. As a result the band are confident they will be able to fulfill all gigs both prior to and after Harvs departure, aided on occassion by the mighty Steve "Billy" Bradshaw(when we can drag him off the golf course/football pitch/beach!). Meanwhile our 'new' 5th member (who will be revealed in the fullness of time!) is currently 'in training'. So folks, if you've been considering dragging yourselves along for a night of fine music (aided no doubt by a dozen pints of beer!) please afford yourself the pleasure and come and give Harv the send off he truly deserves (cries of 'once a tax inspector, always a bloody tax inspector ' may be a little harsh...). 12.06.07 A kick in the Garricks! We've just been informed that the Garricks Head in North Shields is having to cancel bands due to problems with the brewery and there being uncertainty around the venues future. Consequently our date in August has been cancelled. The band send their best wishes to the staff in what has been a very good venue for Borderland thus far and hope whispers of it's demise prove totally unfounded. 03.06.07 T-Shirt-anly know how to pick 'em (Geddit?!) .The lads would like to say a HUGE thanks to everyone who turned out at Rickleton last night in what was certainly one of the 'hottest' gigs we've done so far (and we don't just mean the playing!). Special mention must be made of the Honeyz (all three of 'em!) for their fabulous dance routines (obviously choreographed by Carling) and for swelling the ego of Dave Drums even further by adorning Peckett Snr tribute t-shirts!! Don't say I didn't warn you ladies. Breasts the world over are no longer safe...... 31.05.07 T'aint what you do, it's the way that you do it ....And May surely did get us some results! The band passed their 25th gig milestone (hardly a world record but you gotta start somewhere!) and had tremendous nights particularly at the Garricks Head and Marquis of Granby. June sees a more reserved month gig-wise (just the three!) but trust me there's a whole lotta stuff going on behind the scenes and we'll be in full swing come July where we currently have seven gigs (see list page for details)!! Gulp.... Hope to see y'all soon!! 26.05.07 Soft Rock Rules!! Yes, it has finally been decreed that we are a 'soft rock' band. Not by the band themselves you understand, as we like to think of ourselves as 'proper gadgees' but hey, shit happens and we love what we do so soft rock's fine with us!! Anyway, a fantastic night had at the Garricks Head in Shields last night. Great crowd and we had a blast from the soundcheck onwards!! Thanks to Vivien for her kind words and to all those who attended, we salute you!! 06.05.07 R.E.S.P.E.C.T. The band would like to applaud the efforts of Harrison Honey Lynn and the trusty Scott crew who successfully flew over the Tyne on a zipline today earning a hefty donation for the Anthony Nolan Trust in the process. Well done Missus!! The next Bond girl role is surely now yours!! 05.05.07 Congratulations! Crikey, you could've picked us up, turned us upside down and shook us ferverently and we'd still be stunned, but the news is true: guitarist Gav is now engaged and getting wed to Lou!! Congratulations one and all from your everloving fellow bandmates, and more importantly, BRING ON THE STAG DO!!! 22.04.07 Another one bites the dust Sadly our proposed gig at the Fellsider on 19th May is off due to the venue double booking us. On a positive note thanks to everyone, particularly Ann, at the Prince of Wales in Jarrow. A good night all round and the band are desperately thinking up ways they can undertake a tour of the South of France as kindly offered by our new friends from Nice!! 18.04.07 One in, one out! The band are sad to hear that Shafto's bar in Stanley are no longer hosting live music thus our gig in August is off. We'd like to say a HUGE thank you to Clare and her staff for their support and for letting us know so quickly. Not all doom and gloom though as we've been asked to do a sunday afternoon gig at our second home the Star in October. Dave Drums is particularly confused as to where his real home home is as he's now down for 3 gigs in said venue that month!! Oh to be so popular..... 17.04.07 Back in Print: BorderLand T-Shirts! Sorry for the delay but, following repeated requests, we now have a further limited batch of BorderLand t-shirts, available in sizes small, medium and large. Can you afford to be seen without this summer's vital fashion attire ? Please e-mail via our contact page or speak to Harvey at gigs for details. 16.04.07 Star!! That's what you wanted! Er, sorry folks. We've not been the same since witnessing Kiki Dee supporting 10cc at the City Hall. I just wish it had been more a case of Kiki Divvn't.... Anyway, I digress!! Another grand turnout and cracking night had by all at our fave rave, the Star Inn in Newcastle on Saturday. Great to have our old partner in crime Steve "Billy" Bradshaw back on stage with us and don't be surprised to see him up there again in the very near future (how's Jarrow on Friday suit?!). Special thanks to Red and the staff for their hospitality. Top drawer as usual. See ya Friday in the Prince of Wales!! 14.04.07 A Weekend with the BordersThanks to all who turned out at the Blacksmith's Arms, Gosforth last night. And a cracking gig it was to. Why not make it a full 'weekend with the Borders' and join us at The Star, Westgate Road tonight? Rock on, Tommy! 03.04.07 He's back!! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Er, no...but rumours abound of a special guest appearance at our Star Inn gig on 14th April by a 'cheeky chappy' those of you who've been with us from the start will recognise. However, in the words of Monty Python, I shall "say no more"!! For now anyway..... 02.04.07 It's a monster!! Greetings all you wondrous folk reading this (even if you did just stumble upon it by accident)! As some of you will no doubt notice the band are delighted to introduce our newly refurbished website!! Thanks to photographer Phil Ryott for the new shots which make us look 'oh so lovely'. Check out the all new Meet The Band page and see further shots in the Photos page. Please beware however, beauty of this magnitude doesn't appear everyday. And you all thought E.T. had gone home...... 27.03.07 Strike a pose! Well folks, the 'famous five' finally underwent photographic surgery yesterday with Phil Ryotts trusty lens. We're hoping we've not broken his camera but are looking forward to getting the shots through and loaded onto the site for you to 'admire'! (pass the sick bucket!). New gigs in Ovingham and a return to Oxclose confirmed in the Gig Guide. Check it out! 18.03.07 Would you Adam & Eve it? Thanks to all who turned out at the Adam & Eve, Prudhoe on Friday night and also gave so generously for Comic Relief. We hear the comments to the effect that our singer Mark and guitarist Gav looked cool in their red noses. However, we'd respectfully point out that, in fact, only Mark wore a red nose. That is simply Gav's natural honk. We apologise for the current lack of BL t-ishirts. More on the way soon. 07.03.07 Flash, Bang, Wallop - more gigs! Yet another couple of new venues are in the bag (see the Gig Guide for details). Firstly a big thankyou to Louise at the Blacksmiths Arms for wangling us our debut on 13th April, and to Richie from Gateshead Rugby Club for including us in an all day event in July. The band are also hoping to do a photoshoot at the end of March with 'lensman par excellence' Philip Ryott and the Meet The Band page is also scheduled for a revamp now Harvey has beaten some serious information out of us. All I'll say is beware of Sheriff Cactus!! You have been warned..... 04.03.07 Borderland rocks with Brewster Bear!! Yes friends you read that correctly!! For many a year Dave Drums has dreamed of appearing on stage with some of the BIGGEST names in showbiz and before you can say "weren't Journey feckin' unbelievable at the City Hall on Friday?!" one of his major influences has signed us up for an extraveganza at the Dun Elm Ridge bar in Durham (near the Arnison Centre). It's an outdoor event also featuring DD's other mighty band Diablo, thus proving that some people will do anything (including two full sets with two different bands) to please their idols!! Brewster we are not worthy.... Full details in the Gig Guide. 24.02.07 Betty's World Our official mascot speaks out on all things Borderland related in this month's interview. See the page; "Who is Betty Borderland?" 24.02.07 Rebels without a Causey! A big thank you to our fans who turned out at Shafto's Bar, South Causey last night. The event was graced by yet another showing from (two thirds of) the Mark Harrison Fan Club, sadly without their t-shirts on this occassion. We're taking a very short break of 2 weeks now. We say break, but we'll be rehearsing throughout to add in new songs. We're not giving away any song titles just yet, but let's just say that one of 'em was probably the biggest rock song of the 80's! (What, bigger than Joe Dolche's Shud Upa YaFace - Webmaster?) Next up is the Black Bull in Morpeth on Friday 9 March. See ya there! Note that we have currently sold out of Borderland t-shirts. New batch soon. 18.02.07 You're So Vain: Well all I can say is thankyou Vane Arms and particularly Janet, Jo and Lynn for their 'unique' seal of approval. All I'm saying is the Mark Harrison Fan Club is under way (notoriety at last!) and potato heads are in! Go figure..... 13.02.07 Thankyou!! Just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone who made our debut at The Bridle Path in Whickham such a great night on the 11th. A few familiar faces and, just as importantly, some very kind words from some new faces too!! Special thanks to Sarah and Leigh for some mighty fine dancing!! We're not worthy ladies....We're back there in August so hope to see everyone there again. Check out the gig list for our up to date bookings. Hope to see y'all at the Vane Arms, Silksworth on Saturday and Shafto's in South Causey the following Friday. Pleased you got the posters Claire!! 24.01.07 Borderland wants you!!! Yep, the band are looking at boosting their mailing lists and would welcome all contacts from those of you who'd like us to keep you upto date with our schedule, etc. Our email address is in the Contacts section so fire away!! Plus we're happy to announce another debut gig at the Adam & Eve in Prudhoe (see Gig List for details), a new venue so all support will be gratefully received. Our debut in the Gold Medal tomorrow. Bring it on!! 19.01.07 Gig news Our gig at the Vane Arms has been brought forward and we have one cancellation, due to, erm, getting the dates mixed up (see gig guide)! Apologies for any inconvenience. Brand new dates have been added at Luma bar in Sunderland, our first time there, plus we're doing a 21st Birthday bash at Blaydon Rugby club (private function) with our buddies Diablo. 30.12.06 What a year! 'Tas been a wonderful if, at times, bizarre year in the life of Borderland. Gigs are fast stacking up for 2007...you'd be mad to miss us. Meantime, hope you can join us to (almost) see in the New Year tonight at the Golden Lion, Allendale. Our 2006 year review page will be on display throughout January. Enjoy and happy new year to all. 10.12.06 Merry Christmas Everybody! Thanks to those who supported us at The Phoenix and at the Rutherford AFC gig on Saturday 9th December......hell, thanks to everyone whose either been to a Borderland gig this year, thought about going to a Borderand gig this year or intends on coming to one next year. We look forward to rocking you throughout 2007! All the best and remember: a Borderland fan base is for life....not just for Chrstmas!!! 27.11.06 A Phoenix Night! Borderland has received a last minute gig booking for Saturday 2nd December at The Phoenix Inn, Forum Way, Cramlington. The pub has a late licence, so expect us on between 9-9.30pm. 16.11.06 More gigs and merch news! We're gigging lots throughout 2007. See gig guide. Borderland t-shirts will be on sale via concert venues very soon These will be available in sizes M, L and XL (for our more "horizontically generous" fans)! 07.11.06 Gig Cancellation Those hoping to see Borderland at Chevys, Washington on Sunday 26th November needn't bother. The venue has apparently decided to indefinitely suspend all live music. A weak minded and foolish move in our opinon, but thems the breaks. 05.11.06 And then there were five! Borderland regret to announce the voluntary departure of guitarist Steve "Billy" Bradshaw from the band. Steve was an original Borderland member and is leaving to concentrate on 'holidaying and 5-a-side football.' Also because he is not as sad as the rest of us and has a life. Steve's last gig is on 24th November at The Rising Sun, Sunniside. Please come along and give him a decent send off. We'll all miss Steve and wish him the very best for the future. Good luck matey! |
