BorderLand Blogs Where the band air their views on anything from world peace to Van Halen reforming!! Blog 1: 2007 - A year in the life of Borderland So where do you start?!! Well, firstly the facts! In 2007 Borderland have
managed a very healthy 41 gigs in total consisting 1 wedding, 1 Xmas party, 1 outdoor show, 1 festival appearance, plus an
additional garden party with our first New Years Eve show to come! Not bad for a band who set off with the aim of
"a couple of gigs a month" way back in 2006, when life was far tougher for us as a new band trying to make the grade
in publand though I'm sure our superhero Dave Drums Diablo would argue it was way easier for him back then with a far
easier schedule coping with us and the Diablo lads!! Lol!!! During 2007 we sadly lost the services of Harvey and felt the full impact
of life without Smiley Billy Bradshaw but we've had the privilege of dragging Nemo Hudson out of retirement and things
are now back near the stage we were at before Harv became a Southerner!! Venue-wise we've played the good, the bad and the downright weird
but have hearteningly always seemed to garner some kind of positivity from the audience be it from the excellent packed houses
of our 'home' venue the Star, the Black Bull in Morpeth, the Woodlands in Rickleton, and Sleepers in Boldon to those of a
less interested nature who shall remain nameless for fear of reprisals!! We've seen songs come and go from our set, constant discussion (often
heated!) about what we should play, what we shouldn't play and all the rest of the bullsh*t that comes with the passion of
being a musician in a band you care about with your best mates. Yet, it's this that gets you to where you want to be and I
personally wouldn't change a thing (well maybe losing certain songs for the time being...and Tom Jones numbers?....just
kidding!! It worked a treat!!). And so on to 2008 where we, I'm sure, we will once more be confronted
with more 'tales of the unexpected' in our mission to entertain you all playing the music we (mostly!) love. So here's to each and every one of you for your continued support of the
band and to the future. In the words of our very own Sheriff Cactus, I decree.....IT'S TIME TO ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much love Marky Borderland Sun 16th Dec 2007
